From September 30th to October 2nd, APES had a prominent participation in the 2024 Seed Congress of the Americas, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This event brought together key players in the seed sector at the continental level to discuss innovation, sustainability, and the future of seed production. Our Board of Directors, comprised of Luis Burgos, Julio Vivas, and Gonzalo García, along with Mauricio Pantoja, president of the Health Committee, actively participated in conferences, workshops, and business meetings, reaffirming APES’s commitment to research and development in the sector.
One of the highlights was the presentation of advances in the production and export of hybrid seeds, consolidating APES as a regional benchmark. Furthermore, the interaction with industry leaders allowed for the strengthening of strategic alliances and the opening of new growth opportunities for Peruvian producers in international markets. The workshops were also key for sharing knowledge on new technologies and practices in plant breeding , essential for the development of more resilient seeds adapted to the challenges of climate change.
This conference was an enriching experience that reaffirms APES’s mission to promote the use of quality seeds and transform the agricultural sector. We will continue working alongside our partners to foster innovation and ensure a sustainable future for agriculture in Latin America. 📖🌍
